The following online courses offer a work-study component:
- Cow-Calf Production 30
- CWEX 20, A30 and B30
- Power Engineering 20L and 30L
Students perform their work-study component at a business which pays into the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). This is what we prefer; however this may not always happen. Please discuss this with your online teacher for other options.
Example: If a student is in Cow-Calf Production 30 and would like to work on the family farm to complete the hours, the family farm must pay into WCB.
If the student is performing an activity at a workplace and is earning time towards a course with a work study component and is hurt, then WCB provides insurance for the injury. The Ministry of Education has an agreement with the WCB to have students insured.
