Social Studies 30

We live in an ever-evolving society full of change and perspectives that seem to be coming at us from a variety of directions and with an amount of information that can seem overwhelming. The purpose of this course is to look at some of the significant societal factors that are affecting all our lives in Canada and how we can sift through all the information surrounding these controversial issues. The course will have five themes which will act as a framework that we will use to look at these issues and their historical beginnings. These themes (units) include:

  1. Change
  2. Economic Development
  3. Culture
  4. Governance
  5. Globalization
